Online course organization
The Technical Quality Review rubric that ITS uses to evaluate Online and Hybrid courses that go through the MOU process is an excellent checklist for your online course materials, whether your class is online, hybrid, or in-person with a Canvas page.
Evaluations
Part of the regular evaluation of pre-tenure faculty involves classroom observations. Note that the tenured "evaluations" every three years do not involve observations and are really a different beast.

For SoS department chairs registering the incoming freshmen for their departments, some of the important dates from the schedule (Gantt version) are:
This schedule has been delayed and will be updated as we get more information.
Some additional links of interest are:
- The Banner. Chairs probably won't need this this year.
- Notes from Jim Serbalik's 2019 SFAREGS training. This is for Banner 9.
- The Academic Interest Form for incoming students.
- The Master student list for summer 2020 registration.
- Ashley's 2019 email with some info on the Master list and how to use it. The format is the exact same. The only difference is that the student's preferred name is included in the first name tab in parentheses, if it was different than their first name. This will updated once new students confirm. Also, here are some notes from 2017 Master student list that may be useful again this year.

Freshman Registration 2019
For SoS department chairs registering the incoming freshmen for their departments, some of the important dates from the schedule (Gantt version) are:
- May 13: We get access to academic interest forms. Students have until June 3 to complete it, and some may take longer!
- June 7: Banner Training w/Jim Serbalik (10:00am-12:00pm, RM 29, Standish Library). This year we are using the updated Banner 9, so it you used Banner 8 last year, I would recommend taking this. I take it every year since my memory is so poor. Before taking this course you will need the Banner Basic Navigation training. If you have never registered students before, even with Banner 8, you will need the Banner Basic Navigation training. Contact Dora Kahil to get this basic training before Jim's training.
- June 7: Begin registering athletes. We will have a copy of practice schedules.
- June 10: Begin registering non-athletes.
- June 15: Registration complete for athletes.
- July 10: Registration complete for all students

Comparison to peers via IPEDS
I have pulled the latest (2016-17) IPEDS data for Siena and our peers from the compensation task force list and looked at a few variables. The plots are available here, as are the IPEDS definitions of these quantities (although not always crystal clear).
Each graph shows the distribution of our peers (with Siena included) as well as a dotted blue line showing the mean of the group and a solid green line showing the value for Siena. The difference between these two values is listed as "delta" in each legend. The plots are in red if Siena's value for this variable differs from the mean by more than 0.75*(one standard deviation). Note that red does not necessarily mean bad, only that it is significantly different from the mean.
For reference, see an example of the breakdown of the "Instruction cost" IPEDS category as we reported it in 2014-16 (NB: this is NOT the period included in the graphs) to give some idea of what is in this "bucket". This breakdown was used by the Instructional Cost Task Force; I don't have it for any of the other categories.
